Steam Turbine – Chennai to Oldbury

18 March 2014

A shipment of a steam turbine, generator, parts & accessories was shipped from the port of Chennai, formally Madras, in Southern India and was awarded to Allseas by its Indian GPLN partners, Jeena and Company. The two largest turbines weighed an impressive 75T & 50T respectively and the total shipment consisted of 40 crates, 173,900 kgs and 458 cbm.

This project was loaded on board the Rickmers Mumbai and was discharged directly to pre booked specialist transport, that included low loaders and step framed trailers, for on carriage to Oldbury in the West Midlands.

As a result of how well this job went, Allseas have now been awarded further shipments for the same customer.
