Allseas supporting a remarkable young champion.

Allseas proudly sponsors 12-year-old kickboxing and taekwondo prodigy Bella ‘The Bellanator’ Dixon.

As part of our commitment to supporting the communities in which we live and work, the team at Allseas are delighted to be sponsoring a rapidly emerging sporting star. Bella Dixon is a 12-year-old world title winning Kickboxing Champion and WTF Taekwondo National Champion.

Bella, also known as ‘The Bellanator’ due to her relentless pressure fighting style, backed up by a high technical ability, is an England Kickboxing International fighter who has won World Championships across WKU, WKA and WKKC associations as part of Team England, alongside of winning multiple WKO World and European Open championships with her club. Following all this success in tournament fighting, she has also recently stepped into the Ring for Full Contact fights and now has a record of 5-0 and picked up the International Title under the Budo Kombat banner

Bella also has a black belt in Taekwondo where she is a four-time national champion and her dad, Simon Dixon, said Isabella is ‘constantly looking for the next challenge.’ We think that Bella is a remarkable young athlete, and we will keep you regularly updated on her progress but wanted to start off by getting to know her a little better.

· What motivated you to start on your remarkable sporting journey? I wasn’t really given a choice! My dad started me kicking when I could stand up and would just shout ‘Van Damme’ and I would respond by putting my leg as high in the air as I could. Once I could start at a club at 4 years old, I just loved training and very quickly went from twice a week hobby to 5 days a week in both Kickboxing and Taekwondo.

· What do you think is your biggest achievement so far? Probably the 1st World Championships with WKU (World Kickboxing Union) held in Cardiff back in 2022. I had only done a few tournaments by then and was just 9 years old. Fighting against other girls from Canada, USA, Germany etc and it was quite exciting, I never really felt the pressure. I went on and won 5 Golds that year in Points, Light contact, Kick Low, Kumite and Teams Light Contact. Since then I have fought other World Champs in Calgary, Canada. Orlando, USA and Rhodes, Greece.

· How hard do you have to train? As often as I can! I train most days, though it doesn’t really feel like work as I have great friends there and it is always a lot of fun with lots of jokes and laughter. All of my coaches are excellent and can mix the fun in with the hard work and pain!

· For those of us not so familiar with them; what is the big difference between Taekwondo and kickboxing? This year, since moving up an age group in Taekwondo I have seen the biggest difference. Taekwondo is much more technical, looking for the smallest of openings to score a point. Kickboxing is much more of a fight, technique has its place but you can take a glancing shot to land more of your own, rather than worrying about the scoreboard.

· Which do you prefer? I have to be careful here! I enjoy both equally as they both offer different problems to solve. It has been great to mix the two up so I can try to be the best I can be in both of them, Kickboxing, especially in the ring allows me to take out any frustration I may have, but the Taekwondo provides a very different challenge in trying to find gaps and score without giving anything away.

· How is it having your dad as your coach? I could kill him sometimes! But it also lets us spend a lot of time together. All of my coaches have been great. I have been in other clubs in the past and they have all given me different skills to take with me. Peter & Lisa Hadfield from WLM Taekwondo have been great for me, quite different to my Dad who can be quite intense sometimes.

· What is your next big challenge in the coming few months? October is always the biggest month of the year. You spend the first 4 months trying to qualify for the National team in Kickboxing, and doing G Class comps in Europe for Taekwondo. Then the focus shifts to making sure you are at your best for British Taekwondo Championships (this year 4/5th October) and then the WKA World Champs are taking place between the 16th and 19th October.

· What do you like to do away from training and competitions? I like to go shopping for new clothes with my mum. I like to watch movies with my dad and also like hanging out with my friends.

· What do your friends think of what you do? Some of my friends at school only know some parts of the sports that I do, but don’t really know how much I do and the commitment that I have to give. My friends who are in the sports that I do are just as committed and are able to push me to my limits and help improve me.

· How would it feel if you make it onto the plane to the Olympics in Los Angeles in 3-year’s time? As much as I would like too, I will be too young at just 15 years old. So I have to look to Australia in 2032 or after that. It is a dream I have always had, so I hope I can make it there.
