Allseas launches new Air Freight division

The UK’s new air freight service from Allseas Global Logistics

A new, dedicated air freight service has been launched by Allseas Global Logistics – and the growth in exports from the UK is expected to be a major driver of volumes.

Based at Allseas’ Bingham office, is being led by air freight manager Sean Henson, who has ten years’ experience in the air freight sector.

The launch of this new specialist division follows on from Allseas gaining IATA (International Air Transport Association) approval. “Being IATA approved is a major step forward for Allseas,” says Sean. “This means we are now able to deal with airlines direct and raise Airway bills, rather than going through another forwarder. The creation of this new division is an exciting new development and we expect rapid growth”

“We have built our air freight division on the back of the success of Allseas’ ocean freight business, and especially out-of-gauge transport,” says Sean. “We are looking at the oil & gas industry, for example, and many other clients who want a service that’s second to none.”

Air freight demand took a downward slide during the recession but, with demand rebuilding and UK manufacturers stepping up their export activities as the country’s economy recovers, this is the perfect time to develop air freight activities.

“I have worked with many manufacturing companies throughout the UK which are just starting to look at exporting. There are plenty of shippers that have very little freight experience and we can help them grow their business,” says Sean.

“We will offer 100% neutrality. We will make sure the client gets the best airline for the required destination – always booking the premium airline. This will be a service based on transparency and consultancy. Concentrating on exports will often involve explaining the whole process to new exporters and supporting them throughout. We will support the client from start to finish.”

A key reason for Allseas’ success as a group is the knowledge of its individuals, he adds. “It is also about trust – we are quite unique in that we work with a lot of other freight forwarders, and the reason we get that business is our honesty and transparency.”

IATA approval reflects Allseas’ experience and stability. Our air freight division is also expecting to meet the air freight needs of existing sea freight customers. We already have strong and close relationships with a worldwide network of reliable and trusted agents. As Sean says, in this business relationships and reliability are vital. And alongside: “It is all about attention to detail – making sure you are looking at all the pieces of the jigsaw on the client’s behalf, forward thinking, never assuming anything, always checking, offering a real door-to-door service.”
