2012 Olympic Atlantic Row

| Allseas Managing Director Andrew Morris has spent most of his life in the business of transporting unusual things from A to B. Next year he will take on a new logistical challenge; moving an ocean rowing boat across the North Atlantic using man power alone. | |
| Andrew is no stranger to ocean rowing. In 2005, he
crossed the Atlantic East - West with partner Mick Dawson. Now the pair have chosen to take on the mighty
North Atlantic, this time rowing from West to East into the teeth of the
prevailing winds. Once across this vast ocean, they will make their way through
one of the world's busiest shipping lanes, the English Channel, and finally up
the river Thames and into London in time for the start of the 2012 Olympics.
As part of the
Olympic legacy, the Olympic Atlantic Row aims to reach out to young people,
encouraging them to get involved in sport and to aspire to reach their full
potential. We will be using this venture to raise money for a youth development charity and an educational
programme will see Andrew and Mick linked to schools across the country. Daily
marine samples detailing the amount of rubbish particles found in the North
Atlantic Ocean will be provided direct to the classroom. |
