Allseas Global sponsor the Golden Gate Endeavour 2009
On May 8 Chris Martin and Mick Dawson set off on the Golden Gate Endeavour 2009 in an attempt to be the first to row unsupported across the North Pacific Ocean. Setting off in their boat Bojangles from Choshi, Japan, covering over 6000 nautical miles & aiming to finish at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco the crew have their work cut out for them but Allseas is behind them all of the way.
Allseas Global sponsored the shipping costs & handled the complete logistics of the adventure. We export packed Bojangles, shipped her via container to Tokyo then reloaded her to Choshi port where she was unloaded via crane. Once the epic adventure is complete Allseas Global will do the reverse in San Francisco, lifting the boat out of the water by crane and repack her into a special cradle ensuring Bojangles returns safely to the UK.
With broken oars, choppy seas and a few shark ‘incidents' it's fair to say that the trip has been eventful and we've been closely following the entertaining blog regularly updated on the Endeavour's web site.
With just a few days (fingers crossed) to go all of us here at Allseas Global would like to wish Chris & Mick the best of luck as they approach the finish line. Allseas Global MD Andrew Morris rowed with Mick Dawson in 2005 on the boat 1 Life on the successful unsupported crossing of the Atlantic Ocean.
