Complex cargo to the 7th floor of Cathy Pacific HQ
20 March 2017
We are proud to have been involved in another interesting and complex cargo shipment, this time on behalf of Cathy Pacific Airlines and our client EDM.
We were contracted from the initial design and planning stage to ship and deliver an Airbus A330 and a Boeing B777 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET).
This complex cargo made up a training cabin with the dimensions L: 18.5m, W: 5.7m, H: 3.5m weighing 27 m tonnes for the A330, and L: 18m, W: 6.5m, H: 3.2, and 24 m tonnes for the B777.
We were asked to prepare a method for execution of separating and preparation of the breaking down into 11 pieces, and to advise on how to prepare the pieces for securing / transport and finally Lifting the cargo to the 7th floor of the Cathay Pacific headquarters in Lantau airport, Hong Kong.
Des Nott, Group Project Manager, said “This was a really interesting project and a type of cargo we’re very familiar with following our similar award winning move on behalf of Ethiopian Airlines. Being involved at the very start of the design and planning stage ensured a complex delivery was executed perfectly from start to finish, high up in the 7th floor”
