AEI Cables to Dubai

Contracted by the Iranian government to move the last two submarine telephone cables manufactured by AEI Cables prior to the factory being decomissioned in Gravesend, UK. There were two reels, 1x175 tonne reel measuring at 12m x 3.7m dia and 1x135 tonne reel at 4.3m x 6m dia. destined for the Solomon 3 project in the Persian Gulf, the cargo was spooled directly onto a waiting flat barge from the factory conveyor belt at the end of the Gravesend site's jetty, the cargo was then transhipped at Tilbury onto a coaster vessel which took the cargo to Antwerp for further transhipping onto a heavy lift vessel destined for Jebel Ali port, United Arab Emirates.
